No, we do not. We have done so in the past, but liquor laws are getting more and more complicated in the “reciprocal” shipping states. But the main reason is we just don’t have enough beer!
We are currently NOT taking on any new accounts. Our distributors are also NOT taking on new accounts at this time. In addition, we are not taking on new distributors. We can’t make enough beer to supply our own pub let alone our existing wholesale accounts and distributors! We also don’t do dock sales. Further, it is against the law in the State of California to purchase alcohol RETAIL and resell it under another liquor license. DO NOT come to our pub, or any other retail outlet, and purchase beer for resale at your establishment. We, and the Dept. of Alcoholic Beverage Control, are keeping a close eye on potential violators.
We are installing ONE new fermenter, so I guess you can consider that a “mini” expansion. And then we are out of room and have no plans to build another brewery at this time. That one tank will enable us to make enough beer to send to our current accounts and distributors in hopes that they will run out LESS FREQUENTLY! Small is beautiful!
We are currently not open to the public at the production brewery. Someday we plan to have a tasting room and may be open by appointment only for tours. But not anytime soon. The brewpub is open daily but we are not staffed with full-time tour guides. There are windows to the brewery and barrel room which provide a pretty good view! Our staff is very knowledgeable about our brewing process and our wide variety of beers and happy to answer your questions!
We take reservations for parties of 6 or more, but can not accommodate more than about 40 people. That’s even a stretch! Call 888-950-2337, Ext. 114 and leave a message with your requested date, time, and number in your party. Reservations are NOT guaranteed until someone calls you back to confirm! We have a side room that we can squeeze in 30-35 people, 40 if it’s a cozy group!
We only have live music 2 nights a week, so it is difficult to get a gig at our pub. Email bandbooking@russianriverbrewing.com with your info and link to wherever we can give you a listen. We do not book rap/hip-hop bands. Our focus is more on local music, but entertain traveling musicians on occasion and prefer original music. We do not do cover charges, so the shows are FREE and the band gets paid a set amount. Also, we do not allow tip jars. Customers can tip our bartenders and waitstaff and buy your merchandise!
Click on this link for a fairly accurate listing of what’s available at the pub. Please note sometimes we run out of something and don’t have the chance to update the website immediately. We always have 1 to 3 barrel-aged/sour beers on at any given time! Pliny the Elder is on tap 93.5% of the time, too!
We do not sell kegs to retail customers at this time. You may purchase growlers or bottles of whatever is available at our pub! Also, we do not sell kegs to any accounts (grocery or liquor stores) that sell direct to consumers.
Younger is brewed once a year and is generally available around the first week of February. Given the overwhelmingly unexpected turnout at this year’s release, we are making some changes for next year. There will NO GROWLERS available to go. We will not be bottling it, either. Chances are we will still distribute a very small amount to key accounts in some or all markets in which we are distributed. That is still up for discussion. It will be available at our brewpub sometime in February to be consumed on-premise only, 10 ounces at a time. Perhaps this way it will last more than 8 hours and we won’t see it for sale on Ebay!
Once opened = 2 to 4 days (tops). As you pour a beer from a growler, air displaces the beer inside the growler and thus the remaining beer in the growler starts to oxidize quickly.
In all cases, a growler should be kept cold and if you are traveling a long distance from the pub to your destination it should be kept cold in route.
