Vinnie and I just returned from our first vacation in 4 years! I guess you can say we have been a little busy. We celebrated our 24th Wedding Anniversary last week on Kaua’i hiking, relaxing on beautiful beaches, and eating tons of fresh fish. It was a much-needed reprieve after a very intense few years!
We also celebrated our 15th Anniversary at the Downtown Santa Rosa Pub this past April with an old-school Russian River party with HUGElarge, Pat Jordan and a lot of tasty beers! Thank you for supporting us these past 15 wonderful years in Santa Rosa (some of you even longer including the Korbel and Blind Pig days). Cheers to the next 15+ years in both Santa Rosa and Windsor!
Our new private events room at the Windsor brewery was finally finished (Phase 2) a couple of months ago. Our Events Coordinator, Lisa, is quite busy booking it for all kinds of different events. The room seats 60 comfortably, but we can host up to about 80 cocktail party-style. You can reach Lisa lhogle@rrbeer.com if you are interested in inquiring about booking a private event. We also plan to start hosting our own beer dinners along with some educational events. Keep an eye out on social media for updates. As you may have noticed, I don’t blog nearly as much as I post on social media, and certainly not as much as I would like to. But I am committed to keeping this blog under my job description as long as I can even if it happens less frequently!
In other fun news, we recently announced our second Wild Friendship Blend Collaboration with our good friends at Cantillon and Allagash! Our first collaboration was released over 5 years ago in May 2014. The blend will happen later this year with the bottle release on May 1, 2020, Quintessence Day at Cantillon. I do not believe it will be available in the United States so you will have to join us in Brussels for that one. The American blend will happen somewhere along the way and be released in 2021. All collaborations we do have a purpose, and this one is no exception with the ultimate celebration of international friendship!
Vinnie and I have been attending some pretty epic events this Summer including the Brewer’s Retreat in Boothbay Harbor, ME, put on by Craft Beer & Brewing Magazine, and an amazing beer dinner at Cook in Philadelphia for only 16 people. Talk about intimate! In a couple of weeks we head to Vermont for a small beer festival at Hill Farmstead Brewery. Then in October we are giving the Keynote speech at the Ontario Craft Brewer’s Conference in Niagara Falls, ON, Canada. We plan to tell the story of building our dream brewery, a house, and running a business all at once while staying happily married!
Finally, production from the new Windsor brewery is enabling to take on new areas of distribution in California. While our existing customers are able to get a little more beer, you should also start seeing our beer pop up in the Central Coast from Paso Robles to Santa Barbara, Chico, and the Central Valley next month!
That’s all for now. I hope you are all having a fantastic summer enjoying good craft beer, a good book or two, and fun in the sun!
Cheers-
Natalie
