Janet’s Brown Ale

IMPERIAL BROWN ALE

We first brewed this beer with our friend and avid homebrewer, Mike “Tasty” McDole, for the Great American Beer Festival’s Pro-Am competition in 2009.  This was originally Mike’s homebrew recipe which we beefed up a bit with more fermentable sugars and hops. Sadly, Tasty passed away on October 4th, 2020, after a valiant battle with cancer.  In honor and memory of our beloved friend and fellow brewer, we made this batch of Janet’s at the Windsor brewery in our open-top fermenters. We will be making a donation to a cancer charity in Tasty’s honor as well.  Janet’s has rich notes of chocolate, toffee, caramel with a hoppy aroma and long dry and slightly bitter finish.  RIP, Tasty!
